meet me in st louis

we left the zoo and drove around forest park (where the zoo is located). being early evening on a saturday we saw not only 1 wedding gathering in the park but 6! yes, 6 weddings on one saturday. and let me tell you, as a already married bride who planned her wedding out doors, all those brides were rejoicing in prayer! the week before the weather had reached a chilly 30 degrees or something like that. marsh and i were preparing ourselves to freeze the weekend we came up but no, the weather was seriously a beautiful 70 degrees that saturday (and even reached a whopping 80 degrees the next day). all the nov 1 st louis brides lucked out with gorgeous weather!
after saying that the park was able to fit 6 different weddings (some huge) i think that makes you aware that it is quite a large park. it even rivals central park in nyc. in my personal opinion it beats central park but since its in new york city (only the most famous city of all time, eyes rolling) you only hear about central park.
anyways that night we witness history in the making as texas tech went on to defeat #1 texas. andrew was an absolute wreck until the game finally ended with his team on top. then he was just in awe! we chowed down on imo's, st louis pizza, which pretty much rivals any other pizza i have ever tasted! yummy!
sunday we went on a beer tour (free!). we toured the anheuser busch brewery, which resides in st louis. its like its own little world back there. very cool indeed and i am not even a beer girl! we were able to sample 2 beers, i only sampled one because it was pomegranate (and i can't turn pmegranate down) but i couldn't even finish it. what can i say, i have yet to develop the taste for beer. after the tour, danielle and andrew whipped up a lovely lunch for us.
luckly it was football sunday, so us girls slipped away for a mall excursion! so much better shopping there than i have been able to find in nashville. oh well what can you do?
it was a packed fun filled weekend in st louis but the best was seeing my best friend again! it had been way too long, we must find a way to live in the same city (hint hint wink wink andrew! haha)
now i'm patiently awaiting them to join marsh and i for all of our first married thanksgiving!! ;) bon appetite!
