this year was our first married christmas. with that in mind we had some major traveling to do in order to spend time with both families. sadly, i spent my first christmas away from my folks but was able to spend the whole week before christmas with them. what matters is being able to actually spend time with your family, not that you are together on december 25, a date that mere society has deemed as christmas. christmas can be any time you want!
marsh and i celebrated christmas 3 times this past year: a nashville christmas, a texas christmas, and a florida christmas!
nashville christmas was a big hit. marsh gave me a mio watch. for those of you not aware of what a mio watch is, its amazing. its a workout watch that keeps track of the calories you intake and how many calories you burn. i can even wear it in the pool while i swim my laps! yay! how many people can say that there watch says their name? well mine does! haha! marsh received what he had desperately been wanting, an lsu helmet! geaux tigers!
the next day i flew to midland to spend the week before christmas with my folks. my sister and joshy came into town on thursday! then friday, marsh and phil came to join us as well! it was a week packed with old
friends and lots of family. as i grow up i realize just how nice it is to go back home for awhile. don't get me wrong, i do love my adventurous lifestyle, picking up and moving where ever i desire, but i do love going back home every once in awhile! it was great to see everyone!
now i just have to take the time to brag a little on my family. i have to give my mom props for making a beautiful christmas tree! it had peacock feathers sprouting from the top of it! it was gorgeous, great job mom!
and i have the most adorable nephew in the world! unfortunately i have not had the pleasure of getting to see joshy as often as i would like but oh my goodness was he not incredibly adorable this christmas! he is at the stage where he runs around the house, plays with all kinds of toys,
and is even starting to talk. the baby stage was fun and cute too, but oh this stage is just so much fun! he had a ball opening presents and playing with anything he saw. right now joshy is obsessed with the moon. cutest thing i have ever heard. he will look at you with those melt-your-heart blue eyes, point with one finger to the sky (or ceiling) and say "moo?" he doesn't quite get the whole word out but you totally get the gist! how adorable is that? unfortunately for him the moon didn't come out much it midland, covered by clouds i guess. now the cutest thing he did was this. you would sing to him, " i see the moon and the moon sees......" and again he would look at you, point to his chest and go, "me!" oh my gosh i just want to steal him and take him home with me! (although my sister would not appreciate that, i don't think i have the responsiblity for a kid quite yet! haha)
it was so good to go home and see my family, now all that is left to do is for my sister to come see me in nashville! (hint hint!)
from midland we flew back to nashville, had 2 days to regroup, then it was on to florida, but that is for another day......
