so while marsh and i are trying so hard to consistently eat in, in order to save money, sometimes we get drawn into the idea of trying new places. we drove past peter's sushi and thai today. of course with the word "sushi" included, i am desperate to try it! in the window is a sign from Toast (like the 225 awards) for best sushi. i did some research on the internet and read some amazing reviews about peter's. it is in a shopping center and looks very little.
we decided that tonight we would try sushi since i am desperate to try nashville sushi. as we approach the restaurant we see a crowd of people outside of the building. obviously with a wait like this it must be good. we walked past a deli and a burrito place and neither places had ONE single customer. i actually felt bad for the 2 but i do have a love for sushi and was ready to try some! as we waited, there was a guy waiting by himself. we started small talk with him for a bit until they came by to seat him. they were gonna seat him at the sushi bar but he wanted a table. instead of taking up a whole table to himself, he asks if we want to join him. of course we agreed. so we went into the night expecting a nice sushi dinner for the 2 of us but instead we met a super interesting guy, ozzy, while have delish sushi! i am so pumped about this sushi place. the only bummer was that ozzy was here on business and actually lives in louisville. oh well we enjoyed over 2 hours of conversation with a stranger!
finally my dream came true. i have always wanted to invite the people who eat by themselves to eat with me! wouldn't that be fun just to talk to a random new person every time you go out to eat?
i recommend the next time you are out eating and see some one dining alone, start some small talk! it makes for a very enjoyable night and you get to meet someone new!
